POTSDAM

The City of Potsdam captivates the beholder with its magnificent cultural backdrop. For over two-and-a-half centuries, Potsdam was the royal seat of the Brandenburg electoral princes, of Prussian kings and German emperors. During the reign of the Hohenzollern dynasty, the best artists and architects from Germany and abroad created an ensemble of architectural and scenic jewels: the palaces of Sanssouci, Charlottenhof, Glienicke, Babelsberg and Cecilienhof, the Neues Palais, the Marble Palace, and the unique garden landscapes, on which Lenne left his characteristic mark in the 19th century. ın 1990, UNESCO included the palaces and gardens of Potsdam in its list of natural and cultural world heritage, the highest international honour for a cultural monument worthy of conservation.
